The Marvel Overpower bible is a comprehensive collection of all things relevant to the game. Rules, Continuity, Prologues, everything. It’s the best source for new players, DMs, and anyone else following along.

Wolverine: Played by Matthew Lewis

Wolverine

The man known as Wolverine has been many things: mutant, soldier, X-Man. After the rise of The Barony, he’s been recruited by Black Panther to join his Secret Avengers. He brings with him several lifetimes of combat and espionage.

Domino: Played by Geekylikeme

Domino

When things defy all probability, physics or common sense, it’s probably because Domino is near. Luckier than a rabbit’s foot, and armed to teeth, Domino is the ultimate devil-may-care operative.

Recruiting Heroes & Allies

Recruiting heroes & Allies

One of the most interesting aspects of the Marvel universe is the ever-changing landscape of alliances and ideologies. In a world where Cyclops—often considered one of the X-Men’s greatest commanders has also been one of their toughest threats—no Marvel game would be complete without the ability to create temporary alliances. Even with the strangest of bedfellows.

What is Marvel Overpower?

What is Marvel Overpower?

Marvel Overpower is an experiment. What happens when you mix two fandoms? Marvel Comics and Dungeons and Dragons?

Traditional writers are replaced with DMs who craft plots based on titles (like Avengers, Spider-Man, Black Panther, etc.), and open up the roles of their favorite Marvel superheroes to players in order to guide the plot. The shared continuity morphs under the guidance of the various DMs, the players, and their games.

Solicit: Secret Invasion

Solicit: Secret Invasion

The inception of the Nation of Unified Evil rapidly destabilized the global theatre. In response, countless privatized militaries and financial institutions swooped in to pick carrion from the bones, often in the guise of “help.” One such firm—The Consortium—draws the attention of S.W.O.R.D., concerned with their possible ties to an alien sect of robber barons.

Tactics Not Alignment

Tactics Not Alignment

Alignment in a standard D&D game is often ignored. In a world where heroes and foes will have to overcome their difference in order to defeat Zemo’s hordes, even more so. Enter tactics. Tactics grant heroes powerful abilities when they find themselves in the right situational environments.

Secret Avengers

Secret Avengers

With the threat of reprecussion, heroes had to go underground. But the Avengers still exist, just in secret. Black Panther leads a covert group of Avengers on surgical covert strikes against Zemo.

Building continuity between multiple games in a larger overworld is a challenge. Marvel Overpower believes it’s an important part of the Marvel RPG experience. It should never be a burden, however. DMs and players can find the best way to include it (or not). The following sections will detail different aspects of a shared-continuity universe spanning several different campaigns, goals, and styles.

Solicit: Runaways

Solicit: Runaways

When the world gets turned upside down, sometimes it’s best put it in the rear view. For a group of kids whose villain parents have signed onto Zemo’s schemes, it feels like a case of Tainted Love: “Once I ran to you. Now I’ll run from you.”
