The inception of the Nation of Unified Evil rapidly destabilized the global theatre. In response, countless privatized militaries and financial institutions swooped in to pick carrion from the bones, often in the guise of “help.” One such firm—The Consortium—draws the attention of S.W.O.R.D., concerned with their possible ties to an alien sect of robber barons.
Secret Invasion is a space opera played at home on Earth and the galaxy. The joints chiefs of S.W.O.R.D. Abigail Brand and Monica Rambeau make the connection that The Consortium is the same alliance of cutthroat aliens currently holding much of the galaxy hostage. What are they doing on Earth? Why are they pretending to offer aid, defense contracts, financial support to governments and individuals in need? Why the charade pretending to be humans? S.W.O.R.D. wants to know, and they’re sending in some of the galaxy’s best agents to find out. Players will embark upon a sci-fi spy thriller both on Earth and across the infinite galaxy as they cut through through paranoia set against a nefarious agenda on a galactic scale.
Secret Invasion is fraught with equal amount of espionage and double crosses (like Mission: Impossible or the Black Widow film) as well as massive set pieces in space (think Mass Effect) as they try to uncover a galactic conspiracy that threatens more than just their home planet.

While a S.W.O.R.D. party has Team tactical advantage, players can shift the damage type of their non-standard (slashing, piercing, bludgeoning) attacks to any other type.

Players may cast Heat Metal whether they have access to it or not. Using Heat Metal in this way burns a 2nd-level spell slot, or one use of another ability’s charges on a given character sheet if the character does not have access to spellcasting. This effect of Heat Metal works on non-standard and organic metals, as may exist at the DMs discretion.
