Doom sought one weapon above the rest in his attempt to become the god of all space and time: The Darkhold. The most powerful mystical tome in all existence. Filled with countless spells that could all upend the power balance of reality.
However, the caretaker of the Darkhold—Doctor Strange—noticed Doom’s mystical gambit to try and steal the book, and was able to whisk it away to a secure place beyond the power-mad ruler’s grasp.
Unwilling to let it go, Doom risks the temper of the gods and teleports himself to their plane, seeking audience with Khonshu. Doom offers a deal to the god of night. He offers to bathe New York City in darkness—an eternal monument to the god—so long as Doom might have access to use the vampires that find their way to town. Khonshu refuses and summons his fist, Moon Knight, to remove Doom, but Doom easily puts down Khonshu’s champion. Angered, Doom vows to find another way to plunge NYC into darkness and get access to the vampires he seeks. Khonshu banishes Doom, but is quite wary of his threat.
Khonshu knows of a spell—The Montessi Formula—only found in the Darkhold that can destroy all vampires in existence. While the book was beyond Doom’s power, it could not evade the god’s gaze, and he secured it for himself.
Meanwhile, he sends his fists, Moon Knight and Hunter’s Moon, back to NYC to prepare for the worst and protect travellers of a potential eternal night.
When Khonshu retrieves the book, it alerts a Scarlet Witch to its location, and she travels across realities to align herself with the vengeance god.
At the same time—thanks to the meddling of Doctor Doom—Dracula has harnessed the errant power of the fractured timeline—Chronovium—to force eternal night upon New York City anyway, and with the help of The Structure—vampire power brokers—build it into a vampire nation.
Doctor Strange seeks out Khonshu to gain back the book in a game of skill, but Scarlet Witch intervenes and tries to take Darkhold for herself. In the conflict, the Darkhold is torn apart and its pages scattered across the city.
Khonshu, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch all lead forces against each other to secure the Darkhold for their individual uses, while Blade and Dracula lead armies against each other to determine the fate of New York City.
This is a retelling of both Season 1 of the Marvel Rivals game and Marvel’s Blood Hunt event.
